Section 8 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) requires employers to maintain a workplace that is safe for all workers. To achieve this, he needs the co-operation of the workers in his employment. Obviously, it is impossible for an employer to deal with the inputs and complaints of every individual worker and therefore require suitable individuals to represent the workers at a forum where work-related safety issues can be discussed and dealt with.

This forum ensures that there is structure and purpose in the efforts of employers to make sure that the health and safety of workers, contractors, visitors, and the general public are not negatively affected by the activities of their organization.

Who should attend:

  • Supervisors
  • Team Leaders
  • Health & Safety Representatives
  • Management Representatives
